NovUM FSE Council
Botond Moksony
Let’s Bring FSE together!
Although we belong to one faculty, our student community often feels disconnected. Let’s organize more social events to bring the faculty together and form friendships that you can rely on throughout your social, academic, and professional life!
Create Better Community Spaces in Randwick
Right now, students lack spaces to relax and socialize after lectures. The project rooms and study spaces are meant for quiet work, and even the common rooms are limited since noise disturbs the nearby offices. Let’s push for more outdoor seating, green areas around PHS1, and work with the university and municipality to create parks and communal spaces in Randwick.
Planning Periods Should Involve... Planning
As an international university, especially in FSE and DACS, UM must do better with releasing schedules well in advance, not just weeks before a new period. The current system makes it nearly impossible for international students to plan travel, jobs, and personal life. Let’s advocate for earlier, more reliable scheduling and clearer communication from the administration.
Vote Botond for a more connected, supported, and organized faculty life!
Carlos Valdez
Hey everyone! I'm a 2nd-year Business Engineering student running to make your study journey even better. Let me ask you something...
What if FSE felt more connected? Let's build a stronger faculty community with more opportunities to meet students outside your program!
BE students: Ever feel like you're living in two worlds? I get it—we’re like children of divorced parents. Using my experience from BENGI, I'll improve collaboration between SBE and FSE to enhance our program quality and reduce frictions.
Feeling overwhelmed? Your wellbeing is essential! I’ll work to ensure greater access to support and wellbeing initiatives—because studying should never compromise your health
Leonhard Cuzmin
Hi, my name is Leonhard and I'm a 2nd year student at UCM. I am running for councilor to help FSE make the most out of its strengths. To achieve this goal, I especially want to advocate for:
- Introducing more real-life problems into courses: working with coordinators to orient PBL problems further toward real life; following the core of PBL so everyone can gather applicable knowledge.
- Expanding FSE's international opportunities: extend outreach to potential and existing partners to gather more high-quality exchange options for ALL FSE departments (especially in STEM).

Francisco Santos Silva
20 y/o, 2nd year UCM student. With one year of experience at the Faculty Council defending issues from the monitoring of the shortening of the academic year to student and university solidarity in face of the budget cuts, I am in a good position to represent the FSE student body once more at the Faculty Council. :]
Monserrat Martinez Cortes
Hello everyone, I'm Monserrat, a Circular Engineering student running for councilor to enhance our university experience through:
- Advocating for outdoor spaces in PHS and diverse study areas, including quiet and group rooms for all FSE students
- Promoting sustainability by reducing single-use plastics and supporting eco-friendly initiatives.
- Foster a more integrated faculty by building stronger connections between all FSE programs.
Elisa Bauer
Hi! My name is Elisa and I’m a first year student at UCM. I want to provide FSE students with the best possible opportunities. That is why I want to advocate for:
-Introducing more flexible education by promoting internships and recorded lectures.
-Supporting international experiences by ensuring access to multiple exchange universities and diverse language courses.
-Creating an FSE Network through organizing more faculty-wide events. This can help us unite our communities, find research partners, and gain career insights.
I also intend to raise awareness about the faculty council. You are being represented and have a voice!
Elizabete Putnina
Heyhey! My name is Elizabete and I am a first-year Computer Science student. I want to make studying pleasant and give everyone a chance to shine. Here's what I intend to focus on:
- Expanding exchange opportunities in all departments, especially for DACS students.
- Creating outdoor learning and community spaces in Randwyck — places where students can relax, collaborate, and soak up some study motivation from the sun.
- Making a proper, safe crosswalk between Endepolsdomein and Joseph Bechlaan - because we all know that corner isn’t made for crossing, but we do it anyway.

Forging a university that stands taller
- Human rights first. Freeze partnerships that breach UM’s values and human-rights obligations.
- Audit every tonne, every euro. Transparent UM2030 sustainability metrics, never buried in unread PDFs.
- Bridge the Maas between us. Foster genuine connections between Dutch and Internationals.
- Campus spaces as catalysts for community. Green spaces, common rooms and a student-run hub that powers the UM community.
- Teaching beyond slogans. Give coordinators the resources to turn around poorly reviewed courses across all faculties. And defend our humanities!
- Unwavering social safety. World-class prevention workshops (mandatory), zero-tolerance policies and support every survivor until our campus is truly safe.
Ann Marie Martinou
Hi, I am a University College Venlo (UCV) student studying Life Sciences, with a focus on nutrition. I seek to bridge the gap between Campus Venlo and the rest of the buildings / faculties in Maastricht. My main priorities include:
-Providing efficient and affordable transport from Venlo to Maastricht and vice versa, particularly for major events like Studium Generale
-Forming connections between UCV's International Student Association BEET and other student associations to foster the creation of larger social and academic events
-Integrating internships into the UCV curriculum
-Offering additional foreign language courses such as Dutch A2 or Spanish at UCV
