Sam Schulpen

Sam Schulpen

My name is Sam, I’m 20 years old and I'm in my first year of the bachelor Dutch Law. My main goal will be to help students gain more of a voice regarding topics of our faculty by promoting student engagement with the Faculty Council, to enable us to make our faculty even better together. I also wish to improve our current exchange system to clarify it more while also enabling more students to go on exchange because currently not everyone is able to go due to lacking information or opportunity. Let’s solve these problems together!

Paulien Ottenheijm

Paulien Ottenheijm

Hi, my name is Paulien I am 19 years old and I am currently in my second year of the Dutch law bachelor. I am on the board of my sorority, however besides doing that I think it is important to be involved with what’s going on within the faculty. Therefore my goal is to make sure there will be more room and attention for individual feedback for students, instead of a general approach. I strive for an environment where students can ask questions about their individual work and receive feedback which they then can learn from and grow.

Tessa Schriders

Tessa Schriders

Hello, I am Tessa, 21 years old. Currently, I’m in my first year of Dutch Law. I wish to make Tax Law stand out more in general. Students don't know the differences between the bachelor's Dutch Law and Tax Law. I want more information meetings and Experience Days focused on Tax Law, so that first-year students can make a good choice for their second year.

I want to improve important things. However, the question what do you want is more important. So vote and together we will make the faculty a place where we all feel at home.

Juno Klerks

Juno Klerks

My name is Juno and I’m 21 years old. Currently, I’m in my fourth year of the bachelor in Dutch Law. I want to strive for clear and consistent communication within our faculty. For example, the feedback and communication following exams and the publication of grades should be improved. In addition, it's vital for students that the communication regarding progressing through the years and the consequences of failing a course will improve. Furthermore, I want to focus on the importance of extracurricular activities and internships.

Mathilde Olek

Mathilde Olek

Hi! I’m Mathilde, 18 years old and from France.
I am currently a first year student in the European Law bachelor. My main goal is for the faculty to give the students who need it more personal attention. That could be achieved by facilitating even more the access to help regarding mental health, or by enabling students to have more feedback on their way of studying
This would improve the quality of studying for the people at Maastricht University.

Emma Daalmans

Emma Daalmans

Hi! My name is Emma Daalmans, I'm 19 years old and currently in my second year of the Dutch Law Bachelor. My goal for the upcoming year is a better community feeling. Now that everything is finally open, we should definitely make use of that! By organising Faculty Drinks and other social activities, more students can get to know each other. This will be beneficial for the community feeling at Maastricht University.

Annefleur Timmermans

Annefleur Timmermans

Hi, I’m Annefleur, 19 years old and in my second year of the Dutch Bachelor, Rechtsgeleerdheid. For me, I would say that nowadays sustainability is getting more important and I do think that the faculty has made some changes already, but in this case nothing can be enough. I would suggest on trying to be as sustainable as possible by investing in eco-toilet paper, eco-paper towels, not using any plastic lids anymore for drinking coffee, cleaning with eco-friendly products, using eco-friendly handsoap, sorting the trash even better.

Let’s make our faculty as sustainable as possible to help safe the world!

Louise Thomeer

Louise Thomeer

Hi, my name is Louise and I’m 21 years old. Currently I’m in my fourth year of Dutch Law. Throughout the past few years I noticed that besides studying, focussing on extracurricular activities has become more important to students. By fulfilling activities such as a board year, internships or student jobs, students learn more about their future field of work. I want to make sure that students know what their options are when it comes to extracurricular activities and that taking part in such activities is stimulated by the faculty, because it most certainly contributes to students’ future employability.
