Kaan Muraru

For a more pragmatic FASOS!

My name is Kaan Muraru, I am from Bucharest, Romania and I wish to represent you in the FASoS Students Council. Since joining the UM family in September 2025 I have grown attached to this instituion, thus solving some recurring problems for my colleagues has become a priority.

I believe that every student's voice should be heard, so through the submission of my candidature, I am fully commited to be each of your voices in the council. I aim to create a more positive, comfortable and competitive environment for all of us, where dissatisfaction will not hide behind a wall of shyness, but will be dealt with pragmatically.

Some priorities that I have are:

• Introducing a better first-year integration programme! Too few students are aware of the social benefits UM and the Netherlands offer. This programme will help students better integrate in Maastricht, learning about DUO, the job market, and other opportunities in the city.
• Improving student to student dialogue, in order to prevent lonelyness and exclussion;
• Canvas standardisation. Making courses in canvas easier to navigate by creating a standard framework of uploading.
