NovUM FSE

We show up. We know how this works. We deliver.

NovUM is a progressive party dedicated to an inclusive, sustainable, and student-centered university. We believe in a future-proof FSE that prioritizes student wellbeing and transparency in every decision.

But values only matter if you have the effectiveness to back them up. Last year, our councillors turned a 95% attendance rate into real results - securing higher quality of education, stronger EPCs, and a faculty that is finally starting to put students first.

Progress also means building a community that bridges the gap between our programs. Whether you study in the city center, Venlo, or Randwyck, we are committed to creating more social and academic connections across the whole faculty. Simultaneously, we continue the fight to transform the Randwyck campus from a concrete jungle into a green, human-centered hub where students actually want to belong.

This year, our diverse team is ready to combine experience with fresh energy to keep a close eye on the shortened academic year and protect student interests. Whether you’re a BSc/BA student in BE, CE, CS, DSAI, MSP, UCM, or UCV - or an MSc student in DSDM, AI, IE, or SBB - we’ve got you.

  • Stronger education: resourcemaxxing the EPCs and FSE's Faculty Council to defend quality, accountability, and real co-determination.
  • Student-centered Randwyck: end the concrete wasteland; build a greener, social campus with affordable food, a supermarket, a cooperative bar, better common spaces, and good housing.
  • Support that works: reduce staff overload so students are not left waiting for help.
  • Fund community: our study associations are not extra; they keep FSE alive and our students afloat through the pressure.
  • More Erasmus exchange options for all!!!!!
  • One FSE: faculty-wide events and hangout spaces that build real community.
  • UC ally: I am also running for UC. If elected I will keep backing FSE.

  • Amplifying the voice of students: I want to raise student concerns, empower EPC's, and ensure your needs are met.
  • Improving the courses: The quality of classes and timetables must be improved. Professors must build on course feedback.
  • Deadlines: Students should not have to wait months for their grades, or an opportunity to inspect them.
  • BoE: There should be a student advisor for the BoE, and course legislation should be fair. Students need an opportunity to appeal if accused.
  • A better campus: Students should have affordable, vegan, and halal options.
  • Professors: Overworked professors should have their work delegated and have secretaries.

Hi, I’m Claudia, a UCM student, and I’d love to represent you at FSE! I care about making our faculty more connected, open, and truly student-driven.

I want to:

  1. Make the student council visible and approachable, so students actually feel represented
  2. Build a real FSE community, both socially and organisationally, with more communication between programmes
  3. Ensure student feedback leads to real improvements across all programmes

Together, we can make FSE more open, connected, and student-focused!

Hi, I’m Céline, a DSAI student and I’m running because I want to make student life more transparent, organized, and enjoyable for everyone. Here are the main 3 points I want to focus on:

  1. Expand International Opportunities (more options for the exchange semster and possiblilty to do internships (abroad) as part of the curriculum)
  2. Bring more affordable food options to the Randwyck campus (affordable and healthy meals at the cafeteria and more healthy snack options on the campus)
  3. Improve the Organisation at FSE (recorded lectures, improve skill class quality and better communication between students and the faculty)

Hi, I’m Marie, a Circular Engineering student working to make FSE more connected, supportive, and student-focused. I care about how we’re informed, how fairly we’re treated, and what it feels like to spend our days on campus.

My Priorities:

  1. A stronger campus community: More cross-faculty events, affordable food, and greener, welcoming spaces at Randwyck.
  2. Fair policies: Our Rules and Regulations should support learning, not add stress. I will push to revise strict rules like 100% attendance for skills courses.
  3. Clear communication: No more chasing information. Students deserve transparency, especially around the EER and how to access support.

Hello everyone! My name is Maëlys, and I’m a first-year student at UCM. By running in these elections, I hope to make FSE a better place for all of us. Here is what I am fighting for :

· Strengthening communication between FSE students and UM staff to allow a better understanding of our study environment.

· Improving access to affordable food on campus, my priority will also be to provide FSE student with more diverse and healthier food options.

· Enhancing student well-being and comfort in study spaces on campus in order to have better academic outcomes.

Hello, Tijn here! I am a first year Dutch CS student. I would love to make FSE a better place for everyone! I advocate for:

  1. Better quality of education: recorded lectures, feasible projects and course material, more evaluation moments than only a single final test and sufficient preparation time for resits.
  2. Better integration for international students: e. g. organize information evenings about living in the Netherlands.
  3. More socialization: more budget for activities and study associations (e. g. Incognito).
  4. A better campus: Randwyck should be greener and should contain a supermarket closer than Lidl, and/or cafetaria food should be made more affordable.
