Lijst voor Nederland Faculteitsraad Rechten

Lijst voor Nederland has the vision that UM takes social responsibility and contributes to Dutch society.

Dutch interest - There must be an equal distribution between Dutch-taught and English-taught education. Most of the courses are only available in English. This results in the loss of knowledge that is valuable to the Netherlands. Dutch courses are economically less profitable for UM, but needed for the Netherlands.

Dutch language - English has become the norm; Dutch is the exception.  Dutch must become the working language again. The Dutch language forms the basis of our culture, identity and mutual connection. 9 out of 10 international students leave the Netherlands within 5 years after graduating.  To integrate A Dutch language course must be made compulsory within English-taught courses.

Effective testing - The ban on food and toilet visits during exams must be lifted. We must be able to focus optimally. In addition, testing should contribute to the learning process. Memorization-based testing is ineffective. Open-book exams provide depth and stimulate critical thinking skills.

Transparency - Feedback on testing should be quick and clear. In this way, we know where we stand in our learning process. To achieve this, UM must renew its outdated ICT systems. UM must also communicate transparently about choices that affect us. Our questions and comments must be taken seriously. UM can only serve us by being open.

Lijst voor Nederland wants UM taking its role in society seriously! Vote for our future!
